Hayat-Khaneh Villa
“Hayat” encompasses two homophonic words in Farsi, one meaning “courtyard” and the other “life”. “Hayat-Khaneh” therefore metaphorically represents a dwelling where life flows harmoniously.
Hayat Khaneh is a villa project located in northern Iran, within the resort community of Southern Khazar Shahr. It covers an area of approximately 1200 square meters, situated at the intersection of the main boulevard and the northern alley. The building is designed over two floors, with a total area of 600 square meters.
The entrance hall of this building is its focal point, situated at the intersection of two open axes. The interior spaces around these axes resemble islands surrounded by open areas. While the project may seem inward-focused in appearance, the interplay between open and enclosed spaces lends it an inherently outward-looking character.
The building features diverse sectional views vertically, providing varying depths of perspective towards the outside and courtyards. Natural light entering through the building’s crevices alters the shape of the spaces throughout the day. The central courtyard, highlighted by a swimming pool, serves as a source of illumination, casting a blue hue into the spaces.
The building is naturally ventilated by empty corridors along the axes, which split the building and allow the sea breeze to flow through cool shades of different volumes from north to south.
In this house, the ground floor includes communal spaces, while the first floor comprises private living areas and bedrooms arranged around the central courtyard of the project. Additionally, a separate suite is designed within this project for independent use.
