Ehsan-Pood Factory
The Spindles
Location
Shokohieh Complex,
Qom, Iran
The Story
The spindle form of the gateway symbolically refers to the function of the textile factory and represents itself as a landmark for the industrial zone architecture.
This project started by the idea of creating a monumental gateway in front of two previously constructed production halls of a textile factory. The specialty of Ehsan-pood factory was in fabricating threads with industrial machinery. The architects were asked by the client to design two additional spaces including one administrative section and one guesthouse. These separate spaces were organized in front of the production halls and together served as the main gateway to the complex.
