The Shalikar villa, similar to the common housing typology in northern Iran, stands elevated. It rises from the ground, featuring a unique concrete structure with overhanging edges resembling those of a boat. The structure becomes bulkier where the building meets the ground, and encloses the living spaces within its repeating frames.
The ground floor features a central hollow space that runs from the front to the back, dividing the project into two parts on either side. This tunnel-like area serves as the outdoor seating area for residents, like the traditional porches found in northern Iranian homes. Additionally, it facilitates natural ventilation from north to south by drawing in the cool sea breeze.
